Duo Vis-À-Vis, comprising of violist/violinist Brandin Kreuder and pianist Craig Jordan, have performed over 30 public recitals throughout 9 U.S. states since their debut in 2016 at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. They have organized and performed six concert tours with recent programs including The Viola and Piano Works of 1919 (2019), The Final Chamber Works of Brahms and Rachmaninov (2018), Clarke and Brahms (2017), Reminiscence (2017) and Pathways (2016). They have frequented a wide variety of venues including churches, schools, concert halls, and homes. In the fall of 2019 they began performing on the Holland America Cruise Line ships Ms. Zaandam and Ms. Amsterdam, the latter as part of the 2020 Grand World Voyage.
The duo has been featured on a number of concert series including the Good Shepherd Catholic Church International Concert Series in Minneapolis, the Grace Presents concert series in Madison, Wisconsin, and the inaugural Second Stage Series performance for the College Light Opera Company on Cape Cod. In 2018 the duo commissioned Los Angeles based composer Shaye Swanson to write a work specifically for their fifth tour. On their travels the duo is committed to educational outreach, and have visited numerous schools to give lessons and performances. The duo’s name “Vis-À-Vis” translates to “Face to Face” and reflects their mission of breaking the barrier between musician and audience - creating a more engaging and inclusive experience on both ends.
